Sarah Haskins...aka "The Girl Who Rocks My World"

For quite some time now I have been and avid watcher of "Target Women" hosted by Sarah Haskins. My fave episode, for now, is the beauty contraption episode...absolute genius!

I think what makes Sarah so good at getting important information across to the audience, is her ability to show you just how ridiculous some of these things that women do and are sold, really are. So far she has covered: chocolate, illnesses, Broadview security, doofy husbands and many more.

Once you watch one episode you will see how well she does at poking holes in the media's extremely inaccurate portrayal of women.... enjoy!

  1. That was one of the best things I have ever watched on youtube! LOL! I love it! I never realized before that their target audience is women that aren't very wealthy....hence the payment plans they always offer!

"But wait! Call in the next 6.5 minutes and receive not one contraption but 5! Be one of the first 20 callers and receive this embarrassingly stupid contraption for 19.99, thats just 1/8 of the original price! Be one of the first 10 callers and get it for just 8.99!" Practically giving it away..and I wonder why! Hmmmmmmmm...................

  2. I'm looking forward to bringing some Sarah to class when we do the beauty industry. [not in person, just her Traget Women episode, sadly]

  3. I curiously ventured and watched more...I love the Broadview security one and the idea of the "rape fable". Always keeping women scared to keep them in their place....i mean safe..haha.

  4. The Broadview Security commercials make me soooooooooo angry! I love how home security is only good for women and children. Even the home is supposedly to scary a place for women!

  5. I love watching Sarah Haskins. I first was introduced to her in 1st yr Women's Studies class and then one day i decided to pick up a BUST magazine and they were doing a profile on her. So i wen to check out her website adn i probably sat there for over an hour watching her ads!! I even called in my mom and whomever else was in the house to come watch them. I found it amazing that in the article it said she actually worked for many of the marketing firms and companies. So she knows from first hand experience who/why/how they "Target Women" ...

Anyone that has not checked out her ads and website... THEY NEED TO!

  6. Just after reading this post, i watched a couple episodes on youtube. specifically the "Broadview Security" and "Beauty Contraceptions" episodes. I howled with laughter at them. I think that the most entertaining part is how society views it to be true. People will break in when they know you're home and conviently a few seconds after you've pushed a button. Dont worry though, a loud irritating noise will stop them from actually entering. Of course, this will only happen to women who live alone or with a child and the robber is male, as well as the person working at the company - its the damsel in distress all over again! must...be...rescued...by...good-looking...male!

Sarah certainly does a great job of putting the fables into a manner that dismisses them and shows the public just how outrageous they really are.
